On a sunny, calm day there is nowhere more beautiful than the Victorian Coastline to the west of Melbourne. The blue waters, pristine beaches and amazing limestone features are the picture of serenity, and images of them have graced coffee table books and travel manuals the world over. But for the sailors of years gone by there was nothing enjoyable about this coastline, which is said to have been the demise of over 700 ships in the past. For when the weather turns bad and the waves become turbulent theres nowhere on the planet more dangerous to be sailing past. This has led to the 180 kilometre stretch between Cape Otway and Port Fairy to be dubbed the ‘Shipwreck Coast’ in recognition of the hazards it presented to mariners of the past. The regions historical significance combines with its beauty to create a holiday destination like no other, an intriguing place with wonders around each corner.

The Shipwreck Coast is reached by heading west from Melbourne onto the Great Ocean Road at Geelong. This is renowned as one of the most spectacular ocean drives in the world, and its easy to see why as you wind your way along it, through rainforest and along high cliff faces with scintillating ocean views. The road passes through delightful coastal towns that will entice you to park your campervan and spend a couple of nights enjoying the warm country hospitality. Continuing along you will start to come across what the Shipwreck Coast and the Great Ocean Road are most famous for: the amazing limestone structures carved out by the powerful ocean.

The most striking of these are undoubtedly the Twelve Apostles- huge pillars of resistant rock rising out of the ocean which has worn away the surrounding land. Seven pillars remain standing, pointing crookedly to the sky while their compatriots have succumbed to the waves that crash relentlessly at their base. Close to the town of Port Campbell, there is plenty of accommodation near to the Apostles. They are viewed from a series of platforms and boardwalks built along the mainland that helps prevent erosion, and there is a comprehensive visitors centre with Aboriginal arts and historical artefacts exhibited.

Just up the coast from the Twelve Apostles is the site of possibly the most famous shipwreck on this coastline, the Loch Ard. This was an iron hulled skipper that ventured too close to land in thick fog in 1878 and ending up dashing itself on the rocks, leaving only two survivors. Loch Ard Gorge was named in commemoration of this tragic incident. It has two towering walls that stretch out into the ocean away from a pretty beach that is perfect for a swim or a picnic… provided the weather is calm!

Although many people turn around and head back after reaching Port Campbell there is still plenty to see if you continue west. The first thing you may want to visit is the Grotto, a natural arch that has been created by sinkholes wearing their way through the rock until they meet. Looking at the Grotto from land it creates a perfect natural frame for the ocean behind it, a great opportunity for photographers. Continuing west you will come to the London Bridge, which looks a lot like its namesake in the British Capitol. Unfortunately the bridge part crashed into the ocean a few years ago, although the arches on both sides remain. It takes nothing away from the attraction though, and you should definitely give this a look.

Thirteen kilometres west of Port Campbell is the small fishing hamlet of Peterborough, population 200. Starting here and stretching for 33 kilometres up the coast is the Bay of Islands Coastal Park. The coastline of the bay consists of rocky cliffs dotted with secluded coves that protect rare fauna and flora, but its what lies within the bay that makes it special. Limestone stacks, similar to the Twelve Apostles but not as high and much wider are spread out through the Bay. Eerily they seem to float in the ocean as if not fixed to anything, which makes for some stunning photographs. There are various lookout points up and down the coastline, the nearest to Peterborough being at the Bay of Martyrs, where there is a large carpark and viewing platform which provides some good views of the bay.

A sunset over the Bay of Islands is a fitting end to your time on the Shipwreck Coast. And the great thing is you dont need to get those ‘end of holiday blues’ just yet… all you have to do is turn your campervan around and retrace your steps, taking in all the attractions you may have missed on the way up. There are numerous caravan parks to stay in, but remember in summer it can get very busy here so its best to get on the phone and book your spot in advance!

Pistoia, lies on North-West of Florence, in Tuscany Italy. Its name Pistoria, Pistoriae or Pistorium in Latin denotes the oven used for baking bread. During the eleventh and twelfth centuries, Pistoia distinguished itself for its strong economic growth; as a consequence the city came to control a large territory that exceeded what is today the province of Pistoia. In 1401 Pistoia lost its independence forever and became an integral part of the Florentine dominions. In the following centuries the city prospered.

The province of Pistoia, north of the Tuscany region, is encircled from the Appennines and offers wonderful wooded greens mount scenes and, interrupted from valleys and rivers, rich historical countries full of art, ideal destinations for those who love to join the natural excursions to the discovery of cities rich of character and beauty, in atmospheres like the more classic goals of Tuscany. Cities like Montecatini and Monsummano are famous for their thermal plants – SPA -, Pescia for its international market of flowers and above all the capoluogo, Pistoia, is rich of beautiful Romanesque churches. On the hills around Pistoia, at 400 meters of altitude, Factory ( in italian Fabbrica ) is found, a charming and very small village of medieval origin (XI sec), brought back recently to new life by a sage restoration. The houses are tightened around to an evocative Romanesque Pieve and in top to the country, encircled from two small garden, there is `the ORTENSIA’, one house for the vacations in stone, cooked and beams, according to the Tuscan tradition. The village is quite and silent, dipped in forests of chestnut trees and of oaks. You can get to it through paths, by foot or mountain bike. A wide swimming pool, with wonderful sight on the valley, assures beautiful moments of relax, in the middle of wonderful nature.

In the modern age, travel is such a large part of people’s everyday lives. In fact, given today’s fast-paced lifestyle, it’s hard to imagine that not so long ago, the idea of going on vacation was a rare luxury rather than a growing necessity. And, as the travel industry across the world has boomed, so too have the number of different types of vacations people in America are taking.

These days, holidays often revolve around a theme: skiing holidays in Lake Tahoe or Colorado are common, as are shopping holidays to some of America’s most famous malls. But, if you really want a travel experience with a difference, why not take a food tour of the United States – you’ll find a range of culinary delights available to tickle your taste-buds!

Take a trip to the Deep South on a food travel excursion and you’ll find a wealth of fine foods to sample and enjoy on your vacation. The culinary landscape of America’s southern states has always formed a large part of the lifestyle of its inhabitants; and if you’re embarking on a food tour of America, make sure you don’t miss out on its special and unique offerings!

Taste legendary American desserts, like Pecan Pie and Mississippi-Mud Pie, as well as authentic Kentucky fried chicken. Whether you’re in New Orleans, Atlanta or Austin, you’ll be able to sample some of the finest Cajun and Creole cuisine in the US, as well as partake in the long Soul Food tradition! From chitterlings (pig’s tripe) to Gumbo soup and Jambalay, food tourists in the Deep South are sure to enjoy an enriching vacation!

Anyone interested in embarking on food tours through the USA should also explore the culinary realms of New England on their excursions. From Massachusetts to Vermont, New England’s speciality foods are known for being simple yet high quality cuisine. For instance, New Haven boasts its reputation as the creator of the hamburger – and with a history that dates back to 1895, New Haven burgers are a must-have for any American food fan.

If you’re visiting Maine, make sure to sample Maine lobster – the state’s most famous export worth over $70 million a year. Legend has it that the lobster industry in the region was once so prosperous that lobster was even fed to chickens! And people visiting New England today will be able to taste this special lobster in one of the many roadside lobster shacks that adorn Maine’s coastline.

If you’re looking for more exciting destinations to visit on your trip around America’s greatest food spots, visit San Francisco during the San Francisco Crab Season, which boasts some of the worlds best crab markets and crab festivals annually from mid-November to June. Inspired by a range of immigrant communities, be sure to taste the region’s famous Dungeness crab, which is available in a variety of forms and flavours: from Italian dishes to Chinese and Vietnamese crab recipes, food lovers will adore the range of speciality crab dishes available in San Francisco during crab season!

While you’re in California, why not also sample some of the state’s local produce? Local farmers markets in California are well known for a range of foods, including artichoke, avocados, goat’s cheese and a range of other green produce. And why not indulge in some of California’s well-known Napa Valley wine while you’re on your food tour? You’ll experience the best wine and food the golden state has to offer – a pleasurable experience that is sure to round off your food tour of the USA nicely.

When embarking on a food tour of the US, you’re sure to find a range of food and hotel packages to suit your palate – regardless of the destination you visit. So, why not prepare your taste-buds for an experience to savour?

There are many added expenses to living on a lake. Many of the expenses may be considered luxury items to many people, but they are needed if you are going to enjoy your lake property. My husband and I have always enjoyed spending time at different lakes. We love to fish and take day or weekend trips around the area. We planned to retire by a lake, but we decided to make the move earlier because we found a house and lake shore at a very good price.

We moved at the end of July five years ago. The former owners of our home did not have a dock on the lake. We have a steep bank that leads to the water so we also needed to design some type of step system. We had a carpenter look at the bank and come up with a design that he could do the following spring. My husband also told me that we needed a bigger boat in order to safely fish the lake we were living on. The lake is sixty miles around and twenty seven miles across so the waves can become quite large. Along with a bigger boat we also needed to invest in boat covers for the new boat as well as the small paddle boat that we bought. We also needed a boat lift to keep the boat out of water when it was down by the dock. One of our new neighbors tried to convince us to put a canopy over the top of the boat lift rather than invest in the boat covers. This seemed like a good idea at first, until we noticed all the bird droppings on the canopies of the surrounding neighbors. The birds liked to perch on the canopies as well as build nests underneath them. We decided that we would buy boat covers. We took the measurements of the two boats to a marine dealer. The boat covers that they had in stock were not very good quality and they were generic so they would not fit very tight on the boats. The marine dealer told us that there were names of several people that made custom boat covers on the bulletin board. We wrote down several of the names and telephone numbers.

We called several of the custom canvas businesses. Most of them were booked with orders ahead of us. The quotes we were give for the boat covers were very high. My sister-in-law is a wonderful seamstress and I have done some sewing in the past. We decided that we would attempt to make the boat covers. It took us several hours to design a pattern and several more hours to sew the canvas, but we completed very nice, sturdy boat covers.

When flying to or from an airport inevitably the question
comes up about whether one should park, take a cab or drag
a friend out of bed at 5 am to do you a favor. If you are
looking for information on Boston airport transportation or
investigating Logan Airport parking , there are some
choices to think about.

Here are a couple of nearby solutions for Logan Airport
parking:

Park Shuttle & Fly, located at 320 McClellan Hwy (Rte. 1A),
has an outdoor rate of $17.50, and is 1.7 miles from the
Boston Logan International Airport terminal.

PreFlight Airport Parking, located at 111 Eastern Ave, has
an outdoor rate of $17.00, and is 1.7 miles from the Boston
Logan International Airport terminal.

Sometimes you can leave your car at a hotel if you stay
there for a couple of days before your flight, so that is
always good to research. Also some rental car centers have
a place for parking for those going to airports in certain
areas so that is worth looking into as you research Boston
airport transportation ideas.

If you do leave your car at a facility, find out about the
security and how often the shuttle is to and from the
airport so you give yourself enough time to catch your
flight. Also think about what you will be leaving in your
car and make sure you are comfortable with their monitoring
of your vehicle. If there are items you don’t need in
your car that may attract attention it is best to leave
them at home.

Cyprus boat trips are a great way to see some of the fabulous coves and bays that would otherwise be totally inaccessible from the land. There are literally hundreds of beautiful beaches scattered along the coast of Cyprus. You can weigh anchor and spend hours swimming or snorkeling in the clear blue Mediterranean Ocean. The waters around this beautiful Island paradise stay warm enough for swimming right through to November due to the heat the water stores up during the hot summer months.

There are all kinds of Cyprus boat trips that sail out of the little harbors and fishing shelters dotted all along the coast. Whether your preference is for fishing or just a nice relaxing pleasure cruise there is a trip that’s just right for you. The fishing trips are many and varied from the chartering of a small private motor launch right up to the most professional and modern vessels that will take large fishing parties right out into deep water. The highlight of the sea fishing season is around about July when the tuna arrive off the coast of Cyprus. Be sure to book yourself a Cyprus boat trip that fishes tuna and you will see some real big fish(I know they only look small in the tins) making for some great sport. You could end up eating tuna for your whole holiday if you are lucky enough to land one of those monsters.

For most holiday makers the ideal Cyprus boat trips are the ones that meander up the coast stopping off for a spot of lunch and a swim. There are plenty of those to choose from and they are not expensive either. Some of the biggest pleasure cruises sail out of the lovely harbor at Ayia Napa which is situated right off the main promenade. There’s a superb moonlight cruise that sails in the evenings and includes dinner and a disco too.

If you are feeling a little more adventurous there are some Cyprus boat trips with a difference including a fabulous catamaran which also sails from Ayia Napa under full sail. If you want to experience some real sailing then this is probably the one for you. How about a Cyprus boat trip that sinks! Well not quite it’s a semi submersible or a kind of submarine. Here’s the best bit, yep it’s yellow too!

Many of the Cyprus boat trips out of Ayia Napa and even Larnaca marina travel right up the coast as far as the border with Northern Cyprus. They are forbidden to sail any further than Famagusta which now lies derelict since the Turkish invasion and subsequent occupation of Northern Cyprus in 1976. Famagusta (often rreferred to as the ghost town) was once the jewel of the Mediterranean with its miles of white sand and beautiful hotels it was a major destination for all the top cruises of the day.

Whatever you decide your holiday would not be complete without taking one of the many Cyprus boat trips. With so much to see around the Islands coast there is no better way to take it all in. Remember to take your snorkel because the warm clear Mediterranean waters are teeming with a huge variety of marine life. Don’t worry though because there has never been any reported shark sightings off the coast of Cyprus (the piranhas ate them all) to my knowledge. Enjoy your Cyprus boat trips!

At present, the use of brochures has become more complex. They are not only used as marketing and business brochures, they are also known as effective travel brochures. Travel and similar agencies have realized the importance of these advertising materials in communicating with possible customers. However, it’s not as easy as that because they only become truly effective when they are conceptualized and designed properly.

Whenever you want to spend a long-time vacation, you’ll definitely need travel brochures to help you decide on where to go. Through these brochures, you’ll get a glimpse of your dream vacation spot and you’ll get much excited especially if it’s a full color, glossy travel brochure. It will be uninteresting for somebody to have a great time on vacation if he’ll be looking at a travel brochure of low quality.

Travel brochures have really become an essential marketing tool for travel agencies. Having an attractive and compelling brochure can bring in more customers especially in this kind of business. One has to focus on coming up with an interesting and professional-looking brochure in order to achieve the main reason why it was actually created. It is advisable to include pictures of famous tourist destinations to add more excitement and enthusiasm to possible vacationers. Remember that photographs add life to travel brochures.

With the continuous demand for excellent quality travel brochures, printing services on this type of brochure has been widely offered both by local and online printing companies. When it comes to designs, there are mainly several options. Many printers offer design services as well – they just design your travel brochures from ready-made templates. However, you can also send your personalized designs for these brochures. It will just depend on your taste and style on how the travel brochure will finally look like.

Indeed, if you want to make a long-lasting good impression on your clients and draw in more and more clients, you have to focus on creating more informational and more engaging travel brochures. Take note that these marketing tools are a great way to present to your clients what’s in stored for them once they avail your vacation packages. You have to keep in mind that how you market is just as important as what you market because it is always a challenge for business people to make their business stand out among its colleagues.

Are you bored with the routine of city life? Do you yearn for a getaway from the hustle and bustle and put some excitement into your life? Do you hope to visit the places that have been aired over National Geographic Explorer and experience it for yourself? If your answer is yes to these questions, then adventure travel is just the thing for you!

Defining an Adventure Holiday
Ok, so you’ve decided that you want an adventure holiday. This leads you to the next question – what type of adventure holiday do you want? There is just so much variety and different perceptions of the word “Adventure” that people have come up with all sorts of activities to define this word. For example, there’s the nerve-wrenching bungee jumping sport with locations available to do this all over the world. If you are into water adventures, then white-water rafting may just be right for you. For mountain climbers, they can scale any mountain in the world, each providing the mountain climber distinctive challenges and excitement.

On the other hand, some people may consider watching a cultural parade in an exotic country as an adventure. For example, the annual carnival at Tobago offers an opportunity for visitors to join into their celebrations of street parties and multi-colored parades. Perhaps a cruise to Alaska to watch seals and whales is an adventure to some, while others may prefer a hot air balloon ride amongst the clouds. Those with an archeological spirit within them, may desire to visit the ruins of Anchor Wat or the Pyramids of Kulkulcan and call that an adventure.

Well, the possibilities are just endless. And the definitions are wider. In the end, as long as you had a good time, experienced a great getaway and have opened your eyes to new sights and sounds, your objectives would then have already been met.

Preparing for your Adventure
Once you have made your decision on your destination and activity, the next step that you need to take is to gather as much information as you can on your destination. Things like health warnings, local hazards, visas and weather conditions are just some of the few things that you need to take note of. It would be advisable to join a forum to get to know others who have gone to the same location and have done the same thing, in order to get advice beforehand on things that you need to watch out for.

If your trip requires physical exertion, for example activities like mountain climbing, trekking, whitewater rafting or even bungee jumping; you will need to get yourself physically ready. Cross-training and focused exercise is advisable so that you don’t break down or sustain unnecessary injury during the course of your trip. Also, get a medical check-up before you go, to ensure a clean bill of health and fitness before you embark.

Finally, adventure travel is no doubt a great deal of fun and also a necessary ingredient to add variety to your daily routine. Once you have had a taste of a great adventure, you will no doubt look forward to your next adventure holiday!
Great Exuma Bahamas has earned its remarkable reputation by being one of the most desirable vacation destinations in the world. Discriminating travelers choose Great Exuma for its friendly people and stunning natural beauty. The island may be small but there are many beautiful sights to see, one of which is the impressive Flamingo Bay.

Located just 2 miles south of George Town, Flamingo Bay is a scenic paradise. Boasting one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, the bay is a quiet enclave, home to only a select number of luxurious villas. A spectacular coral reef, approximately one mile out, prevents breaking waves and allows you to walk on a sandy ocean floor and swim in calm waters.

Unlike many Caribbean destinations, Flamingo Bay is not densely populated and does not play host to an endless number of tourists. Life in and around the bay is serene and relaxed, yet there is still much one can do. There is a view of Stocking Island which can be accessed by kayak or other boat. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the excellent bonefishing nearby. If a game of golf is more your speed, a visit to the Greg Norman golf course is in order. Located up the coast at Emerald Bay and designed by the golf legend himself, this 18-hole championship course is one of the best ocean-side courses in the world. And, even if you are not an avid boater, it is impossible to remain unimpressed by the Bay’s marina. Stroll around and marvel at the stunning vessels or hop aboard one for the day.

For those with refined taste, George Town is only one half mile up the coast. Although the February Point restaurant in Flamingo Bay is definitely worth a visit, George Town also offers several restaurants that serve local specialties. George Town also has a number of specialty shops, a bank, a gas station, scuba shops, day-trip planners, bicycle rentals, grocery stores and everything to satisfy your needs and more.

Flamingo Bay has a variety of attractions that appeal to all tastes. Enjoy fine dining, world-class sport, upscale shopping and unparalleled natural beauty – everything you need for your dream holiday!
